Craps rules
There
are two types of Bets in Roulette. These are referred
to as INSIDE or OUTSIDE bets. Inside bets
are made by placing chips on the numbers from 1 to 36.
Bets outside this grid, like for example a bet on RED,
would be an outside bet. The larges payoff odds, 35:1,
are on bets on a single number. Odds of 17:1 are attached
to bets on two numbers, which can be made by laying a
chip across the line between any two numbers on the board.
Four number bets, made at crosses (touching the grid on
four locations), are worth 8:1. A player may bet on an
entire row, with a return of 11:1, by placing one or more
chips over the edge of the first number in the row, or
on two rows at 5:1. Outside bet options include betting
red, black, even, odd, low, high or selected thirds of
numbers.
wo dice
are rolled on the table. The aim of the players is to correctly guess the
number that will fall on the dice after the roll.
The first
roll in the round is called the come out roll. If the dice have
fallen on 2, 3, 7, 11 or 12 points, the round is over. If 4, 5, 6, 8, 9
or 10 have fallen (These combinations are called the point), then
the puck is placed in the ON position– this means that
the point has been set. The puck is placed in a free area of the table over
the point.
Then the
dice are rolled until the point falls again or until a 7 is rolled, after
which the puck is returned to its original place and to the OFF
position.
Before
the dice are rolled, it is possible to place bets on different fields on
the table.

Pass
Line Bets
|
The bet is placed
on the big field on the table with the words PASS LINE. This
bet may only be placed before the come out roll and cannot
be taken back or changed after it. The bet wins, if during the come
out roll a 7 or an 11 is rolled, and looses, if a 2, 3 or 12
falls. If 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 are rolled, the point is set and the
puck is placed in the ON position over the point. Then the
bet remains on the table until either a 7 or the point are rolled.
If the point is rolled first, the bet wins, and if 7 is rolled first,
the bet loses. The bet cannot be removed or changed until it plays. |
If the bet wins,
the payout is 1 to 1 (bet a dollar - get 2 back). |
Don"t
Pass Line Bets
|
The bet is placed
on the Don"t pass bar field. This bet is the opposite of
the Pass Line bet, but can also be placed only before the
come out roll and cannot be taken back or changed after it.
The bet wins if during the come out roll a 3 or a 12 was
rolled. The bet loses, if a 7 or an 11 was rolled during the come
out roll. The bet is returned to the player, if a 2 is rolled
during the come out roll. If a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 are rolled
during the come out roll, the point is set and the puck is
placed in ON position over the point. Then the bet remains
on the table until either the point or the 7 are rolled. If the point
is rolled first, the bet loses, if the 7 is rolled, the bet wins. |
The payout is
1 to 1 (bet a dollar - get 2 back). |
Come
Bets
|
This bet is placed
on the COME field on the table. The bet cannot be placed
until the point has been placed, that is when the puck is on the OFF
position. The bet wins if a 7 or an 11 are rolled. The bet loses if
a 2, 3 or 12 are rolled. If 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 are rolled, this number
is called the come point, and the bet is moved from the COME
field into the correspondent number field - 4, 5, SIX, 8,
NINE or 10.
For example, $25 is bet on COME $25 and a falls on the dice
on the next roll: the bet is removed from the COME field
and placed on the NINE field. The bet remains in the "come
point" field until either this point or 7 is rolled (in our example
the bet will remain on the table until either a 9 or a 7 is rolled).
The bet cannot be removed or changed until it plays. |
If the point
is rolled before a 7 is rolled, the bet wins 1 to 1; if a 7 is rolled
first, the bet loses. |
Don"t
Come Bets
|
The bet is placed
on the Don"t Come Bar field. The bet cannot be made before
the point has been set, that is when the puck is set in the OFF
position. The bet wins if a 3 or a 12 is rolled. The bet loses, if
a 7 or an 11 is rolled. If a 2 is rolled, the bet is returned to the
player. If 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 is rolled, this number is called the
come point, and the bet is moved from the Don"t Come Bar
field to the highest field above the respective come point -
4, 5, SIX, 8, NINE or 10.
For example, if $5 is bet on the Don"t Come Bar and a 5 is
rolled, the bet is removed from the Don"t Come Bar field
and placed in the empty space above the 5 field. This bet will play
against the come point. The bet will remain in the come point
field until either the point, or a 7 is rolled (in our case it will
be either 5 or 7). The bet cannot be removed or changed until it plays. |
If the point
is rolled before the 7, the bet loses, and if the 7 is rolled before
the point, the bet wins 1 to 1. |
Pass
Line Odds Bets
|
After the point
is set, the player can make an additional bet on Pass Line.
The bet is placed in the free space over the Pass Line field.
Unlike Pass Line bets, additional bets can be removed or
changed during the game. |
If the Pass
Line bet wins, the additional bets are paid depending on which
point has been set. If the point was 4 or 10, the bet is paid 2 to
1 (bet a dollar, get 3 back). If the point was 5 or 9, the bet is
paid 3 to 2 (bet a dollar, get 2.5 back). If the point was 6 or 8,
the bet is paid 6 to 5 (bet 5, get 11 back). |
Don"t
Pass Line Odds Bets
|
After the point
is set, the player can make an additional bet on Don"t Pass Bar.
The bet is placed in the free space over the Don"t Pass Bar
field. The additional bets can be removed or changed during the game. |
If the Don"t
Pass Bar bet wins, the additional bets are paid depending on
which point has been set. If the point was 4 or 10, bets are paid
1 to 2 (bet a dollar - get back 1.50). If the point was 5 or 9, the
bets are paid 2 to 3. If the point was 6 or 8, bets are paid 5 to
6. |
Come
Odds Bets
|
After the come
point has been set, the player can make an additional bet. The
additional bet is placed next to the original come point
bet. The additional bet can be changed or removed during the game. |
If the come
point bet wins, the additional bet is paid depending on what
come point was set. If the come point was 4 or 10,
the bet is paid 2 to 1 (bet a dollar - get 3 back). If the come
point was 5 or 9, the bet is paid 3 to 2. If the winning come
point was 6 or 8, the bet is paid 6 to 5. |
Don"t
Come Odds Bets
|
After the come
point has been set, the player can place an additional bet against
the come point. The additional bet is placed next to the
original bet. The additional bet can be changed or removed during
the game. |
If the bet against
the come point wins, the additional bet is paid depending
on what come point was set. If the come point was
4 or 10, the bet is paid 1 to 2 (bet a dollar - get 1.50 back). If
the come point was 5 or 9, the bet is paid 2 to 3, if the
come point was 6 or 8 - the bet is paid 5 to 6. |
Field
Bets
|
The bet is place
in the FIELD area. The player is betting that a 2, 3, 4,
9, 10, 11 or 12 will be rolled. The bet can be placed before any roll,
and does not depend on whether the point has been set or not. |
Winning bets
placed on 3, 4, 9, 10 or 11 are paid 1 to 1, bets on 2 and 12 are
paid 2 to 1 (bet a dollar - get 3 back). If either 5, 6, 7 or 8 are
rolled, the bet loses. |
Big
6 and Big 8 Bets
|
The bet is on
6 or 8 being rolled before 7 is. The Big 6 bet does not win
when an 8 is rolled, same with Big 8 and 6. If 7 is rolled
before 6 or 8, the bet loses. |
If the bet wins,
payout is 1 to 1. For example, if you bet $5 on the Big 6,
and 6 was rolled before 7, the bet wins. |
Place
Bets
(There exist two types of Place Bets)
|
Place Win |
A bet on the
point being rolled before 7 is. The bet is placed in the free space
directly above the point. The bet wins, if the point is rolled before
7 is, in other case the bet loses. |
Payout depends
on the point:
If the winning point is 4 or 10, the win is 9/5 of the original bet
(bet $5 - get 14 back);
If the winning point is 5 or 9, the win is 7/5 of the original bet;
If the winning point is 6 or 8, the win is 7/6 of the original bet |
| Place Lose |
The bet is that
7 will be rolled before the point. The bet is placed in the empty
space above the point. The bet wins if 7 is rolled before the point,
in other case the bet loses. |
Payout depends
on the point:
If the winning point is 4 or 10, the win is 5/11 of the original bet
(bet $11 - get $16 back);
If the winning bet is 5 or 9, the win is 5/8 of the original bet;
If the winning point is 6 or 8, the payout is 4/5 of the original
bet. |
| Both
types of bets do not play during the come out roll, and remain
on the table regardless of the result. |
Buy
Bets
|
The bet is on
the point being rolled before 7. Much like the Place Win
bet, but with different payouts. The bet is placed directly on the
point number field. Player may change or remove this bet. The bet
does not play during the come out roll. |
When the bet
is made, a 5% commission on the possible winnings is charged. The
commission is returned, if the bet is removed or loses. Payout depends
on the point:
If the winning point is 4 or 10, the win is 2/1 of the original bet
(bet a dollar - get 3 back);
If the winning point is 5 or 9, the payout is 3/2 of the original
bet;
If the winning point is 6 or 8, the win is 6/5 of the original bet. |
Lay
Bets
|
The opposite
of Buy Bets. The player is betting that 7 will fall before
the point. Much like Place Lose, but with different payouts.
The bet is placed in the free area above the point. The player may
change or remove this bet. The bet does not play during come out
roll. |
When the bet
is made, a 5% commission on the possible winnings is charged. The
commission is returned, if the bet is removed or loses. Payout depends
on the point:
If the winning point is 4 or 10, the win is 1/2 of the original bet;
If the winning point is 5 or 9, the payout is 2/3 of the original
bet;
If the winning point is 6 or 8, the win is 5/6 of the original bet. |
Any
7 Bets
|
The bet is on
the next rolled number being 7. If the number rolled is not 7, the
bet loses. The bet is placed in the Seven field. This bet
plays during any roll. |
If a 7 is rolled,
the bet wins 4 to 1 (bet a dollar - get 5 back). |
Any
Craps Bets
|
The bet is on
the next rolled number being 2, 3 or 12. If any other number is rolled,
the bet loses. The bet is placed in the Any Craps field.
The bet plays during any roll. |
If the bet wins,
it is paid 7 to 1 (bet a dollar - get 8 back). |
Horn
Bets
|
Four bets on
the next rolled number being 2, 3, 11 or 12. The bet is placed on
one of the fields with the cubes drawn, which comprise the desired
number. If any other number falls, the bet loses. The bet plays during
any roll. |
If either Horn
2 or Horn 12 wins, the win is 30 to 1
(bet a dollar - get 31 back). If either Horn 3 or Horn
11 wins, the win is 15 to 1. |
Hardway
Bets
|
Four bets: Hardway
4, Hardway 6, Hardway 8 and Hardway 10.
The bets are placed on the fields with two identical cubes (doubles).
There are 4 such fields on a Craps table. The bet is on the net rolled
number being a double: 2+2 (Hard 4), 3+3 (Hard
6), 4+4 (Hard 8) or 5+5 (Hard 10), before the
same sum is rolled in any other set of dice (for instance, 3+5 - Easy
8) or before a 7 is rolled. These bets do not play during the
come out roll. These bets can be changed or removed by the
player. |
If Hardway
4 or Hardway 10 wins, the payout is 7 to 1. If
Hardway 6 or Hardway 8 wins, the payout is 9 to
1. |
-
Ace
is counted as 11 points. If the sum of the player"s cards, together with
one or several aces, is over 21, then every one of the aces held by the
player, counts as 1 point only.
-
Face
cards (King, queen, jack, etc.) are counted as 10 points each.
-
Other
cards (2, 3 … 9, 10) are counted at their face value.
To start
playing you have to make a bet. You can also make several bets, and play
against the dealer from several positions, as if other bounty hunters were
sitting at the table next to you.
After the
bets have been made, the dealer deals two cards to each player and two cards
to himself. The players have their cards open; the dealer only opens one
of his two cards.
Blackjack
and insurance. If the open card is an ace, there is a high probability that
the dealer already has blackjack (21 points as a sum of the first two cards
- the highest achievement in this game). You can already think of yourself
as unlucky. However, you can buy insurance against dealer"s blackjack, paying
1 to 2 of your original bet.
After everyone
who wanted to buy insurance has done it, dealer opens his other card.
If dealer
has blackjack, the game stops. All players who bought insurance get their
bets back, as well as their insurance sum, those who didn"t - get nothing,
and the lucky ones who did not insure but also had blackjack lose nothing
and win nothing - just get their money back.
If dealer
does not have blackjack, then the insurance sum (half of the original bet)
goes to the casino, and the game proceeds. Players take turns drawing cards
from the deck one at a time, trying to accumulate a sum of points as close
to 21 as possible.
If player
gets blackjack, he wins with a 3/2 ratio (bet a dollar, get back 2 and a
half).
Split.
If the player does not have blackjack, he still has plenty of opportunities
to win. If you get two of the same cards (e.g. two 7"s) you can split your
hand, adding an amount equal to your original bet. Then you will play as
if you were two players.
If you
are splitting a hand of 2 aces, you only get to draw 1 card for each of
them.
If after
splitting and drawing additional cards you have an ace and a face card or
a 10 in one of your hands, this will not be considered blackjack, but simply
21 points - a very high chance to win, although the dealer still has a shot
at making a tie.
Double.
After the initial dealing round a player can double his bet, but then he
can only draw one extra card.
Bust. A
situation when either the player or the dealer has accumulated over 21 points
is called a "bust". In this case the game ends and the other player
wins.
After the
players are finished drawing cards, the turn goes to the dealer, who has
to abide by the following rules:
If the
dealer gets over 21 points as a result, the bank goes to his opponents (those
who have not busted). The payout in this case is 1 to 1 (bet a dollar, get
2).
If the
dealer got 21 points or less, the player"s points are compared to the dealer"s.
-
If the player has
fewer points than the dealer - the player looses his bet;
-
If the player has
more points than the dealer - the player wins a sum twice his bet (bet
a dollar - get 2);
-
If the player and
the dealer have an equal number of points, the bet is returned to the
player (neither win nor lose).
After the winnings have been dispersed, a new round starts.
